Pick up at your hotel and we will take the road to the right bank area.
First visit in château de BEL. Ollivier CAZENAVE have created this 10 ha estate in early 2000. Excellent winemaker, he believe that his « terroir » give the best to his grapes ; you just have to care with a lot of attention. You will taste his wines close to the fruit, smooth and pleasant.
Lunch in the wine bar l’ENVERS DU DECOR in St Emilion with a local cuisine « du marché » done by two young chefs in a splendid place near the church old walls ...( with supplement, menus at 18 and 28 €).
Welcomed at Château COUTET by Xavier DAVID BEAULIEU. His family owned the Château since the 18th century ; almost rare, it’s like a place coming from the past... Very interesting to discover the vineyards on clay and limestone rounded by several “grands crus classés” like l’Angelus ; it will be followed by a tasting of a Château COUTET vintage. It is my “coup de coeur” in the right bank.
Next visit in château FONROQUE « grand cru classé » ; Alain MOUEIX managed his 20 ha estate with biodynamics precepts (the only one at this level). Discover this elegant château, his natural vineyards and their so elegant and fine wines, be able to aged a long time and ready to drink early also (visit and tasting with supplement, 6 euros by people).
