Pick up at your hotel in Bordeaux area and then on the road to the « 1eres Cotes de Bordeaux » and then St Emilion.
We will begin this tour with a 1st visit at Château TIRE PE where we will be received by David BARRAULT the owner and winemaker.. Splendid estate at the top of the hill facing the GARONNE river with old vines which are given their best ! Wines with a deep red colour, some fresh fruits and smooth, well structured, fruity, long finish...
The lunch is planned at the restaurant LA TABLE in Créon ; nice place in the heart of this « bastide ». You will taste some recipes made by the chef Matthieu ALCOUFFE with fresh food, a place to discover ! (lunch menu at 16 € , week day).
Then on the road to ST EMILION to see...
Château de PRESSAC, 17th century castle at the top of the limestone hill ; this grand cru with 42 ha is one the most regular grand cru..
Beautiful panorama but nice wines too, able to age a long time ...( visit and tasting, 5 € per people).
Then we will follow with a meeting with Sophie DULONG, oenologist at the château LAVERGNE DULONG. She's heading the family estate for a couple of years, invested in a new cellar, opened a B and B at the château...
she's doing her best to produce a rosé and red wine close to the fruit, very tasty and able to age some years... Coup de coeur for this estate !
Then come back to your hotel.
